Taking a different perspective is often very hard. Not because we lack imagination and the ability to think from a different perspective, but our trained and conditioned perspective is too narrow. We rather find confirmation of our own perspective than trying to look at it from a different one. We often fear the change or aren't actually ready yet.
Since a few months now I'm trying to put myself into the shoes of my opposite in any pending decision. By impersonating the point of view of the other, I'm hoping to see how that will change my own perspective and help me achieve what I'm aiming for.
Sharing these experiences might give you a fresh impetus to try it as well creating a more humble, empathetic and challenge-proven human being.
